Lego Club Splits in Two Teams: Programming and Engineering

In the next weeks will have some guest speakers explain some of the challenges of responding to natural disasters - the theme of this years Lego Robotics Competition. A firefighter from AFD and a local MD will visit and help us understand how robotics could protect or help people in need.

There are many type of natural disasters that have been in the news lately, but the students want to focus on forest fires, because they are such a threat here in New Mexico.

New Computers and Finishing the Two Robots

Today we got two new computers for programming and had some help from local Lego Robotics designers Jack Hanson, and Ruben De La Rue,

Here is Jack Hanson, who has been participating in Lego Robotics for many years. His expertise is helping our club design the optimal robot.

Volunteers Needed For Homecoming

We need volunteers for Homecoming. Robotics and Lego club are sponsoring a booth to showcase what we are working on and asking for donations for batteries, t-shirts and for competition registration. We need parents and Lego friends to help out. Homecoming is Oct 28th from 11 am to 4 pm. If you could volunteer two hours of your time please contact Mrs. Rogge at: arogge@menaulschool.com

Today we started on our heavy duty base for the "natural fury" mission robot. The kids also spent their time organizing and building the last steps of our table for our missions.

Menaul Middle School Robotics is Back!

The club is meeting after school Tuesdays and Thursdays in Mrs. Rogge's classroom.

Important dates and times will be listed here as early as possible and
we'll post pics of our progress as we prepare for another competition.

This year the FLL competition will be held at Albuquerque Academy.

The theme of this years competition is preparing for - and recovering from - natural disasters. The students are already brainstorming ideas.
